The Swedish company, Asea AB, was established in the late 19th century, and are known for producing high-quality lighting fixtures for residential and commercial spaces. Asea often collaborated with leading architects and designers, such as Lisa Johansson-Pape and Sven Aage Holm Sorensen, to ensure cutting edge and highly coveted lighting solutions. Featuring a minimalist and functional design, distinctive details, and high-quality materials, these table lamps are a rare find from the company’s archives.

Based on the classic pairing of brass, leather, and glass these models have plenty to offer visually. Like most Swedish light fixtures of the era, the design assumes a more minimalist look that relies on the luster of its materials. The brass and leather structure is quite traditional with a circular base and straight tube, complemented by the opaline glass shade. This table lamp’s design takes advantage of its materials and masterfully accentuates their distinctive qualities, such as their textures.

Each element has a distinctive feel to it that makes the design interesting from every aspect. The shades’ peculiar shape resembles a pressed sphere. When lit, the opaline glass shade produces an atmospheric light that further accentuates the design. Adding illumination to a living space with this pair of beautiful table lamps will not only improve the ambience, it will also bring a piece of design history to the space.
